MORE ABOUT OUR COOPERATIVE CARE COURSE
What is Cooperative Care?
Cooperative Care is teaching your pet to be an active participant in their own care. It is more than simply making sure they are accustomed to being held, handled and manipulated for grooming and veterinary appointments. Cooperative Care means your pet being able to freely give consent for, and actively participate in, nail trimming, grooming and veterinary appointments.
COURSE OVERVIEW
FOR PUPS, KITTENS & OTHER PETS UNDER 6 MONTHS OF AGE
Cooperative Care is a great start to life for a young fur baby as they learn the basics which will give them a good foundation to become the lifelong perfect family pet or a top sporting champion or working animal. These key skills are taught in a way which will maximise your pets’ acceptance of veterinary, grooming, and other husbandry tasks such as nail clipping. Your fur baby will learn not just to accept handling and manipulation for veterinary and grooming appointments, but to actively participate and give consent for such procedures to occur. Cooperative Care techniques reduce fear, anxiety and stress reactions for both you and your pet whilst increasing your pet’s confidence and reducing the risk of injury to yourself, your vet or groomer and to your pet. But best of all, it will save you both time and money by decreasing the length of procedures caused by non-compliance.
FOR DOGS, CATS & OTHER PETS OVER 6 MONTHS OF AGE
Who says old pets can’t learn new tricks? Of course, they can! Cooperative Care skills can work to decrease your fur baby’s pets fear, anxiety and stress they have built up over time. By utilising the skills taught here, your fur baby will be much more manageable in the grooming salon and veterinary clinic, and even at home when needing a quick nail clip. This program is an ideal way to bond with your family member, new or old, and a great way to help older animals who have come from pounds, shelters or rescue groups.
